Group Break: 2017 Topps Archives - Box #1: Packs 1 - 3

I've recorded the video where I open this box in its entirety (so I know what's coming) but I wanted to make sure to get scans up of the cards, especially the inserts and serially numbered goodies.  Without wasting any more time (and don't worry, I'll post the link to the video at the conclusion of the pack posts), let's get to it:

2017 Topps Archives:
Box #1:
Packs 1 - 3:

Pack 1:
Note:  The order I show the packs here is not the order that I ripped the packs on the video - mostly because I didn't try and keep track of the video's pack ripping order.  We'll get to every pack in due time!
15.  Brandon Belt - Giants

76.  Curtis Granderson - Mets
86.  Drew Smyly - Mariners
116.  Curt Schilling - Red Sox
192.  Ryne Sandberg - Cubs
238.  Gregory Polanco - Pirates
245.  Johnny Cueto - Giants
1960 Topps Rookie Stars:  RS_3.  Andrew Benintendi - Red Sox

The first insert goes to the Red Sox (Doc).  I said this on the video, but I'll say it here as well:  I really like 2017 Archives!  The card stock is so much better than in the past...it definitely makes the set "feel" more worthwhile.

Pack 2:
10.  Rio Ruiz - Braves
90.  Kenley Jansen - Dodgers
118.  Drew Pomeranz - Red Sox
155.  Cole Hamels - Rangers

260.  Bob Feller - Indians
267.  Seth Lugo - Mets
273.  Ted Williams - Red Sox
Bazooka Baseball Set:  59B-13.  Al Kaline - Tigers

I get on the board quickly with a nice Tigers insert card of Al Kaline.  The Bazooka cards are fairly common (seeded 1:6 packs or 4 per box).  Still, I like the card - and it helps me get some Trade Bait for the Tigers (which was why I claimed Detroit in the first place).

Pack 3:
4.  Goose Gossage - Yankees

37.  Jon Gray - Rockies
68.  Lorenzo Cain - Royals
129.  Yasiel Puig - Dodgers
169.  Starlin Castro - Yankees
183.  Anthony Rendon - Nationals
208.  Todd Frazier - White Sox

279.  Kyle Seager - Mariners

No inserts, variations, or parallels in that pack.  Even so, it was still a fun pack to rip - the base set is really well done (so much so, in fact, that I may try and track down a box of Archives for myself when all is said and done...we'll see)!

That's it for the first three packs out of the box.  There are still two promised autographs (and I can assure you that we did, in fact, get both promised autos)!  We also hit a bunch of colored parallels...so stay tuned for more coming up soon!
